Dark Fibre & Spectrum
Control your optical future with dark fibre or spectrum
IOEMA’s Dark Fibre and Spectrum services are designed for customers that want greater control over how capacity is lit, scaled and upgraded over time.
Dark Fibre is the choice for customers wish maximum control over their optical infrastructure, equipment strategy and upgrade roadmap. It is best suited to operators and large-scale buyers planning for long-term growth, predictable traffic expansion and bespoke architecture.
Spectrum delivers many of the benefits of dark fibre without the capital intensity of full fibre pair ownership. It gives our customers access to a defined portion of the optical spectrum, typically structured to support independent scaling and technology choice, while allowing either managed or unmanaged delivery models.
For customers that want infrastructure control, but do not necessarily want to acquire or operate an entire fibre pair over a long commitment horizon, spectrum can be the more capital-efficient answer.
Dark Fibre
With Dark Fibre, customers secure dedicated optical infrastructure and retain control over:
- transmission technology and vendor selection
- upgrade timing
- capacity scaling over the life of the contract
- routing strategy and resilience design
Spectrum
With Spectrum, customers gain:
- a defined spectrum allocation in GHz
- a route to scale bandwidth on their own timetable
- more control than a wavelength service
- lower capital commitment than full fibre pair ownership
Commercial options
IOEMA can support IRU and Lease structures for Dark Fibre and Spectrum, enabling customers to align contract duration, capital treatment and growth assumptions with their own network strategy
- Contract options: IRU and lease
- Operating models: customer-managed or managed support options
- Use cases: carrier backbone, cloud connectivity, AI workload interconnection, content distribution, data centre-to-data centre routes
