Neutral, open-access subsea infrastructure for resilient international connectivity
Based in the Netherlands and structured to scale worldwide, IOEMA is building a neutral, open-access subsea fibre platform designed to improve route diversity, strengthen resilience, and provide stable, secure international connectivity.
The IOEMA platform
IOEMA’s platform is built around our 3S architecture:
- Switchable – configurable at deployment and adaptable throughout system life
- SMART – compatible with environmental monitoring and sensing capabilities
- Secure – resilient by design, with shore-to-core digital and physical protection
Together, these principles create a durable, adaptable, and resilient infrastructure model capable of serving a wide range of use cases, from rapidly deployable, reconfigurable capacity or spectrum services to support high-bandwidth dynamic traffic environments to long-term fibre connectivity for customers requiring stable and secure international fibre connectivity.
IOEMA-1
Our first system, IOEMA-1, is 1600km repeater based subsea system planned to connect the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Norway, adding high-capacity subsea connectivity and strengthening digital resilience across Northern Europe.
With a minimum of 24 fibre pairs, IOEMA-1 has a design capacity of 1 Pb/s with a further extension to France under consideration.
